Disclosure Statement

This policy is valid from 20 April 2010

While this blog is a sponsored blog supported by the Center for Teaching Quality, blog author Bill Ferriter has independent control of all of the content posted here.  The Center for Teaching Quality does not require and/or suggest ideas for posts and does not edit the opinions and/or ideas included on this blog.

At times, Bill Ferriter accepts donations of free books from educational publishing companies to review for his audience.  Bill is also occasionally paid by educational publishing companies----particularly Solution Tree and Stenhouse---to host digital conversations between readers and authors.

Even though Bill receives compensation for his work in these digital conversations, he always gives his honest opinions, findings, beliefs, or experiences on those topics or products. The views and opinions expressed on this blog and in every digital conversation are purely Bill's. Any product claim, statistic, quote or other representation about a product or service should be verified with the manufacturer, provider or party in question.

Bill is also a published author and educational consultant with expertise in professional learning communities and learning with digital tools.  By nature, these topics are interesting to him.  His writing in this area, however, also serves to develop his reputation and recognition---which can lead to additional paid opportunities beyond his blog.

Finally, Bill's closest professional relationships are with the Center for Teaching Quality---who have hired Bill for numerous contract projects and who pay Bill a stipend to blog here on the Tempered Radical---and Solution Tree----who have published both of Bill's books and hired him to present at numerous conferences.

While neither of these organizations attempt to control Bill's content and/or ideas, he values his relationship with both groups, which can sway his opinion on topics related to professional learning communities, professional development, teacher working conditions and/or teacher leadership.
